Royal Fanfare Band 'Kempenbloei' (BE) commissioned this work for their concert program in the World Music Contest in Kerkrade. The piece was inspired by the music of Guillaume Lekeu. 'Les Rayons et les Ombres', literally translates to the rays and the shadows. The eternal struggle between light and dark, good and evil... the internal struggle of man himself. When good tries to find its way out of the darkness of self-regard…
